Julia Aplin
Julia is a dancer, teacher and
choreographer. She performed for 12 seasons
with Dancemakers under the Artistic
Direction of Serge Benathan, and has taught
across Canada Julia Aplin has created over
30 original works most of which are
collaborations with musicians. Julia shares
a Dora Award for sound design with John
Gzowski. Internationally Julia has worked
with Kim Itoh (Japan) and Damian Munoz
(Spain).

John Gzowski
John composes concert music and is an
awardwinning improviser. He has composed for
many dance productions such as for
Dancemakers, Margie Gillis, and Veronica
Tennant and worked on over 50 theatre
productions and is a 4-time Dora Award
winner, for works including Coyote Ugly.
John has built instruments, some that have
been exhibited at the Art Gallery of
Ontario. He plays everything from pop (Garbagemen)
and North- Indian flavored jazz (Tasa), to
Greek and Arabic. (Maza Meze)

Ann Tutt
Ann is a dancer, movement specialist, and
improviser. She has performed in the works
of Claudia Moore, Julia Aplin, and Learie
McNicolls, with the ImpulseLAB and in NDH’s
Blueprint Series. Ann creates
installation-based and sitespecific works.
As an improviser she is influenced by Lisa
Nelson and Simone Forti. Ann’s ongoing
exploration of movement is based on 27 years
of teaching Mitzvah across Canada
